Privacy Policy

LEN is designed so that your photos never leave the storage you already control. The app is a viewer. Your NAS is the library. There is no LEN cloud in between.
The summary: LEN does not collect, copy, transmit, or analyze your photos or videos. Your library stays on your NAS and your devices. We can't see it. Nobody at LEN can see it.
What LEN does on your device
- Reads photos and videos from the NAS folder you point it at, over the protocols you've enabled (SMB, NFS, WebDAV).
- Generates thumbnails and an on-device index so browsing and search are fast.
- Caches recent or favorited content locally so the library works offline.
What LEN does not do
- Scan, analyze, or run face, object, or content-recognition models on your photos or videos.
- Upload your photos or videos anywhere.
- Send file names, EXIF metadata, location data, or thumbnails to LEN or anyone else.
- Show you advertising. There are no ads in the app, and we don't sell ad space against your library.
- Sell, share, or rent any data about you to third parties.
What we collect about you (and why)
The only information LEN collects is what you knowingly send to us:
- Email address, if you write to us at hello@len.app or sign up for the early-access list. We use it to write back to you. We don't add it to marketing lists.
- App Store / TestFlight account info, which is handled by Apple under their own terms — we receive aggregate install and review counts from Apple and nothing more.
Where your data lives
Photos and videos live on your NAS. Thumbnails, the search index, and any cached originals live on the device running LEN. We do not operate servers that store user content.
If you email us, your message is stored by our email provider until we delete the thread.
Third parties
LEN works without sending data to anyone but your NAS. The only outside services involved in shipping and supporting the app are:
- Apple — distributes the app via the App Store and TestFlight, and may collect device data per Apple's own privacy policy.
- Our email host — receives messages you choose to send to hello@len.app.
Children
LEN is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Because we hold almost nothing about you, requests to access, delete, or export your data are simple to honor. Write to hello@len.app and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update the date at the top and, if you're on the early-access list, send you a short note. Older versions are kept on request.
